  • 2015.   Dohuk.  Iraq. An NPU (an Assyrian Christian political party) training course for the senior Non Commission Officers of their small militia.  The training is being conducted by 'James,' a former U.S. Army soldier and veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan under the auspices of the Sons of Liberty.  This training exercise concentrates on house clearance and uses airsoft guns.  Matthew van Dyke is pictured peering out.

  • 2017. Mosul. Iraq. Administration officials outside of a destroyed building of Mosul University after it was destroyed and set on fire by airstrikes and fleeing ISIS fighters.  Parts of the university were used as a headquarters for ISIS fighters.

  • 2015.  Tovarnik.  Croatia.  A crowd crashes through a barrier at the train station on the Croatian-Serbian border.  It was over 100 degrees fahrenheit and thousands of migrants waited for trains to take them to Zagreb, while Croatian riot police kept them fenced in.  A promised train never materialized and after hours of waiting in the baking sun without food or water a surging crowd crashed through the police lines.  They spent the rest of the day seeking shade in a field and in the shadow of farm silos.  By evening buses began taking them to Zagreb.

  • 2017. Erbil. Iraq (Kurdistan). The EMERGENCY NGO hospital in Erbil which treats casualties from the battle of Mosul.  A man badly injured by shrapnel to the eyes in Mosul waits for a taxi after being checked at the hospital.

  • 2017. Erbil. Iraq (Kurdistan). The EMERGENCY NGO hospital in Erbil which treats casualties from the battle of Mosul.  Elham, 10, blast injury sharped penetrated abdomen and femur.  She is playing with an Italian nurse who tried to keep the spirits up of the patients.
  • 2015.  Gevgelija.  Macedonia.   An exhausted child is carried by his father through the darkness after crossing the Greece-Macedonian border.  They were quickly processed and put on a train for Serbia.  They were charged 25 euros a person, up from the pre-crisis rate of 6 euros.  Approximately 5000 migrants a day pass through Gevgelija.

  • 2018. Bulgaria.  On the set of the movie {quote}The Outpost{quote} about the Battle of Kamdesh in Afghanistan in 2009.
  • 2015.  Horgos.  Serbia.  The closed Serbian-Hungarian border. The border had closed at midnight earlier that day, but thousands of migrants unaware of an alternative route hoped that it would be opened.  At the border fence thousands of migrants set up tents and demonstrated into the night while Hungarian police stood guard on the other side and shined their flashlights at the cameras of photographers attempting to photograph them. It quickly became clear that it wouldn't reopen and the next morning most pivoted towards Croatia.  There were clashes the next day at the border, and Hungarian riot police tear gassed dozens of migrants.
  • 2019. North Ogden. Utah. USA. Jennie Taylor at home.  Her husband, Brent Taylor, was killed in Afghanistan the previous year during his fourth deployment. He left behind her and seven children.
  • 2017. Bartella. Iraq. The skeleton of an ISIS fighters locals called {quote}The Emir,{quote} a man from the town who terrorized the populace.  He was allegedly found hiding as ISIS fled and killed and hung from the post by the townspeople.
